Istanbul, Turkiye – September 15, 2025:
Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received the first Togg T10F electric sedan on Friday, just days before the nationwide orders for the new model were set to begin. This delivery marks a pivotal moment for Turkiye’s homegrown electric vehicle (EV) brand, Togg, as it looks to expand both domestically and internationally.
The handover, which took place at Istanbul’s Dolmabahçe Palace, also saw Erdogan take the T10F for a test drive. This sedan model is the second car from Togg, following the successful launch of the T10X electric SUV in 2023, which was also delivered to Erdogan as part of the company’s high-profile launch.
Erdogan ’s unwavering support of Togg is a crucial aspect of the brand's rise. Backed by a powerful consortium of major Turkish industrial groups like BMC, Zorlu Holding, Anadolu Group, and Turkcell, along with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB), Togg has been able to navigate challenges in establishing a domestic EV market. As the government promotes domestic manufacturing, Togg’s growth serves as a significant milestone in Turkiye's broader strategy to reduce reliance on foreign car manufacturers.
The T10F electric sedan was first unveiled in Munich at the IAA Car Show, Europe’s largest auto exhibition, and has generated substantial attention. It represents a broader strategy for Togg, which seeks to expand its product lineup with models designed for different market segments. According to the company, the T10F is poised to offer a high-performance driving experience that meets the needs of the modern consumer.
The nationwide sales of the T10F are slated to begin on Monday, following the delivery to Erdogan . But Togg’s ambitions are not confined to the Turkish market alone. The company is already eyeing an international push, beginning with sales in Germany. This is a strategic decision, as Germany is the largest car market in Europe and home to the world’s largest Turkish diaspora. Sales in Germany will commence at the end of September, and Togg has plans to expand further into other European markets like France and Italy in the near future.
Togg’s entry into the European market puts it up against well-established car manufacturers. However, its strategy focuses on capitalizing on Turkiye’s rapidly growing domestic EV market and offering a high-quality, locally produced alternative to foreign EVs. The company aims to differentiate itself by offering modern designs, state-of-the-art technology, and competitive pricing.
The company’s initial success has been encouraging. In 2023, Togg sold about 30,000 units of its first model, the T10X, with sales up by 42% in 2024. This strong growth demonstrates the growing demand for electric vehicles in Turkiye. As the country aims to become a leader in the electric vehicle sector, Togg is positioning itself to meet this demand with its plans to expand production.
By 2025, Togg is aiming for an annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles, which will increase to 175,000 units once its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bursa reaches full capacity. The company’s long-term target is to produce 1 million vehicles by 2030, across a total of five different segments. This includes upcoming models such as a B-segment SUV, the T8X, and potentially more vehicles designed for specific market needs.
With the introduction of models like the T10F, Togg is reshaping the EV landscape in Turkiye. Erdogan ’s endorsement and continued support of the brand highlight the government's focus on domestic innovation. The national emphasis on electric mobility is set to increase, especially as international markets become a key focus. By combining government support with a strategic focus on both domestic and international expansion, Togg could become one of the key players in the global EV race.
As the company ramps up its production and explores new markets, it faces stiff competition, not just from established European automakers, but also from other emerging EV manufacturers. However, Togg’s ability to build a competitive edge with local manufacturing, government backing, and a tailored product range positions it as a serious contender in the global EV market.
For now, as Togg continues its journey toward becoming an automotive powerhouse, all eyes will be on the brand’s progress both in Turkiye and abroad. The T10F sedan's delivery to President Erdogan is just one chapter in what promises to be a transformative period for Turkiye’s electric vehicle industry.
